Remote Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Remote Engineer to join our team and take responsibility for configuring, powering up, and commissioning RLS and Waveserver devices remotely. This role is essential for seamless optical network activation and integration.
Job offer information- Remotely configure and commission Ciena 6500 RLS and Waveserver devices according to technical specifications.
- Perform software upgrades, including license validation, configuration backups, and package handling.
- Manage power-up sequences and activation procedures remotely.
- Collaborate with onsite smart hands or installers for physical installations, cabling, and fiber connections.
- Monitor system performance and validate optical parameters using system tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to configuration, commissioning, and power management.
- Utilize automation and zero-touch provisioning for efficient deployments.
- Document all commissioning activities and configuration changes.
- Support link calibration, fiber loss compensation, and connectivity validation.
- Coordinate with Network Operations, Engineering, and Customer teams for smooth deployment and handover.
Language Skills:
- English - Intermediate (B1)
Personal Attributes and Skills:
- Experience with data centers and optics
- Understanding and experience of DWDM photonic configuration and L0 Control Plane (L0CP).
- Ability to write and execute EMOPs.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of optical measurements, fiber connectivity, and basic network protocols.
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (CLI, TL1, Python) is a plus
- Experience with Ciena devices is an advantage but not required.
- Experience with engineering documentation (DND) is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
- Flexibility to work shifts based on project needs.
