Bratislava, 30 September 2010
Soitron has been awarded the IT Company of the Year 2010. Vladimír Šikura, general director received the award at the annual ceremony of Slovak IT community IT GALA 2010 on 30 September. He says: „It is very pleasant to be part of a company with such positive news published in press in the following several days. However, we all know, this fame will not last long. It feels great, though, that we belong among people, that are good to collaborate with and there is the drive to achieve something together. I would like to thank all colleagues for this.“
For already ten years, the awards have been awarded by the non-formal association of Slovak journalists and members of associations in IT. The aim is to award the professional and management effort of individuals and companies operating in the IT and telecommunication areas and to award the most significant projects realised that year. Five individuals, five companies and five projects were chosen by the committee out of 120 nominees.
According to server ITNews.sk, the committee has prized several unique projects of Soitron, including the implementation of Unified Communications for Tatra banka, redesign of WAN and implementation of IP Telephony for Slovenská sporiteľňa, multimedia contact centre for a provider of outsourcing of call-centre services, managing HD video transmission during NATO representatives meeting, multimedia customer contact centre for E.ON., etc. The committee prized the fact, that services form 56 % of the overall revenue and 30 % of Soitron revenue is being realized outside Slovakia.
The nominations and winners were appointed by a committee consisting of IT journalists and representatives of IT associations: Juraj Sabaka (ITAS), Ján Šebo (CTF), Boris Tytykalo (SITA), Jozef Šupšák (eFocus), Ondrej Macko (PC REVUE), Martin Valášek (Trend), and Martin Drobný (INFOWARE).
